Australian Surf Rowers League - Queensland - aussieBum Queensland Cup Rnd 5 8am Start - Reserve Grade and Masters then Under 23 men and Under 19 divisions followed by Under 23 Women, Open Men and Open Women divisions. (Please note this has been changed to a one day carnival only) Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th January 2010 at Redcliffe Grant Cooper will be looking to his crew for more boat speed this weekend when his Mooloolaba Makos line up in round 5 of the aussieBum Queensland Cup this weekend. After showing excellent form earlier in the season Coops knows that his crew, who only got together two weeks prior to the season start, are capable of matching the strong Gold Coast crews in flat conditions. While still in the hunt for the Queensland Cup, Cooper’s Makos along with Bluey Bacon’s Metropolitan Caloundra, have the daunting task of having to overcome National Champions Lyle Clarke’s, Currumbin Barbarians and the three Kurrawa crews, the Mako’s, the Drifters and under 23 powerhouses the Hustlers. Kawana Waters will be hoping to go one better than the last round in the Women’s Open when they square off against the Kurrawa KO’s while the Krankitiz also from Kurrawa are still smarting over their third placing last weekend and will also be gunning for that top spot.
