Turtles get a police escort, Scarborough Police last night took a little extra care with some wayward turtle hatchlings found wandering the streets at Scarborough. About 10.50pm police patrolling near Donkin Street and Flinders Parade came across numerous tiny turtles on the road. The officers then assisted local community members to guide the hatchlings to the waters edge, having the last of them on their way by about 12.30pm. The turtles were from a nearby rookery. Editor's Note: Well done. A fantastic community contribution by the police service. I love it! Views: 351 |
