REDCLIFFE’S Mon Komo development has taken out the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) prestigious award for excellence within the Queensland development industry.
Project managed by Savills, designed by Altis Architects and constructed by St Hilliers, Kyko Group’s $150 million Mon Komo mixed-use development was recognised for its outstanding industry achievement by taking out the State award for best Multi Level Development at an official ceremony on Friday night.
Mon Komo beat Mirvac Queensland’s Pier at Waterfront development at Newstead and Chermside’s The Edge by Carbone Developments Pty Ltd who were also in the running for the highly sought after award which recognises innovation and excellence in high quality developments within the residential and commercial category.
Mon Komo met the award requirements by registering a development with a minimum density of 30 dwellings per hectare with a minimum of six storeys that is predominantly residential, incorporating commercial aspects.
Kyko Group director Bill Jenkings said the award was a reflection of hard work and dedication by those who brought Mon Komo to life.
“It is an honour to be awarded one of Queensland’s most respected and valued industry awards,” said Mr Jenkings.
“It is a real credit to the vision and performance of all who were involved on the project and to recognise the years of hard work invested by our dedicated team,” he said.
“We believe Mon Komo stood out within its winning category with its reflection of the understated luxury lifestyle inspired from prestigious Caribbean resorts.
“It portrayed a unique vision in comparison to its competitors with lush Caribbean inspired sub-tropical gardens as a signature feature of the development. Mon Komo was carefully designed to offer an enhanced lifestyle for residents who can live, work and play in the one hub.”
Perfectly positioned on the most easterly point of Redcliffe peninsula, Mon Komo is an upmarket mixed use development comprising a classic mix of 184 luxurious residential and short stay apartments across two uniquely designed 12- level towers.
Uncompromising in modern design, Mon Komo is an architectural showcase offering residents the perfect lifestyle combining beachside culture and the vibrancy of metropolitan retail village. The unique stylistic design features natural stones, timbers and contemporary neutral tones mixed with colour accents. Generous balconies and extensive use of glass connect the stunning views of Moreton Bay with the elegant interior throughout.
Savills project director Ken Ng said the award was acknowledgement for the change of development landscape Mon Komo had inspired at Redcliffe.
“With such an esteemed award Mon Komo has become the Brisbane beachside suburb’s most prestigious and sophisticated lifestyle precinct,” said Mr Ng.
“The Redcliffe area is really benefiting from this new wave of modern developments and major infrastructure. Mon Komo is setting its mark as the signature development for the revitalisation of the marine parade strip.”
With alfresco cafes, restaurants, a sophisticated hotel pub and an array of quality lifestyle facilities available, Mon Komo is the benchmark of 21st century living. Facilities include an integrated dining and retail precinct, six boutique commercial office spaces, a mezzanine level conference and function facilities, a grand porte cochere entrance, gymnasiums and pools, all surrounded by lush sub-tropical gardens.
Redcliffe is also benefiting from infrastructure transformations, including the $315 million Houghton Highway Duplication Project; two ongoing upgrades of the Bruce Highway and the Gateway Motorway; and improving Redcliffe’s accessibility to major centres including Brisbane City, Brisbane Airport and the Sunshine Coast.
